Bikers' Days Noise standards
The fight against noise is now omnipresent on European circuits where controls are carried out.
For each ride, a precise limit is set, which cannot be exceeded :
- Spa-Francorchamps : 100 dB
- Static control: the microphone is placed at a distance of one meter from the muffler at an angle of 45°, with the engine running at 8000 rpm, regardless of the displacement and the number of cylinders
- Dynamic control
- Mettet
- Static control : 94 dB - for the two fastest groups before going on the track
- Dynamic control : 101 dB
- Misano : 103 dB
- Dynamic control
- Original muffler or exhaust with mandatory dB killer
- Mugello : 105 dB
- Dynamic control
- Imola : 100 dB
- Dynamic control
- Le Mans : 102 dB
- Dynamic control
- Assen : 100 dB
- Dynamic control
During the day, each participant who exceeds the standard will receive a black flag warning. If we notice a second violation, there will be final exclusion from the day.
WE DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING POINTS:
- The dB Killer cannot be handcrafted, it must be marketed and approved.
- The cartridges of racing mufflers must be changed regularly because, over time, they lose their effectiveness.
- Some machines, even if they are equipped with original mufflers, exceed the standards. Example: the Ducati Desmosedici..
- In case of doubt, choose a serious and effective solution which will avoid problems on the spot which are always difficult to solve.
